The value of architecture in the context of the EU taxonomy

The requirements defined within the framework of the EU taxonomy not only affect players in the financial market, but consequently also the work of architects and planners. It can be assumed that the demand for taxonomy-compliant objects will increase in the future. The influence of planners is particularly great in the early phases of the life cycle of buildings. Not only are draft and design decisive for the taxonomy conformity of projects. Architects can also ensure that no information about design features is lost between the design and operational phases of buildings, so that the sustainability potential of buildings can be fully exploited.

To illustrate the value of architecture in the context of the EU taxonomy, the CPEA and the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) have jointly published a publication. Based on the life cycle phases of buildings, it explains in detail the influence architects can have and shows the added values generated for owners, investors and users at a glance.
